La Coral Manuel Moya tuvo sus comienzos por el año 1987, cuando estaba de Presidente de la comisión de fiestas de San Joaquín el señor D. Joaquín Costa Personal.
En Bigastro no existía y el Presidente vio interesante crear una Coral. Él mismo fue casa por casa llamando a las personas para formar el grupo. Le comentó el tema al Director de Bandas de Música cuya coral lleva su nombre, el señor D. Manuel Moya, el cual accedió a dirigir el coro.
